Introducing our newest Waddler, Ameya - the latest developer to join our ever-growing team. He brings with him a wealth of engineering experience from the finance and telecoms industries and is justifyably excited about the opportunities Waddle's continuous delivery and collaboration will bring. A lover of culture both classic and comtemporary, Ameya is equally happy with a good Netflix binge and a beer as he is a refined evening of music and literature.

A big welcome to the team! How has life in the Waddle house been so far?

It's simply been amazing! The team is very collaborative and helpful and everyone is quite keen to help you and see you succeed.

Who is Ameya Burke? Do you have any hobbies? Secret talents?

I am an avid reader and a lover of music. I've played the guitar since I was 14 and have played a gig or few, though now mostly play for myself. I've read Tocqueville, Steinbeck, Orwell, Salinger, Tolkien, King and am currently reading Murakami's Kafka on the shore. And recently you'll find me binge watching Netflix. I love coffee, beer and burgers and you'll always find that I'm keen to grab a coffee or a beer.

Tell us a bit about what brings you to Waddle. What were you doing before you got here?

I find the idea of delivering continuous value quite enticing, which attracted me here. I was an Engineering manager at SiteMinder leading a distributed team working on a high throughput SaaS platform. I've had a major chunk of my experience in the finance domain with some experience in Telecom. I've always enjoyed solving problems that deal with scaling, either technology or teams.

Recently, I've been cognizant of building evolvability as a first class characteristic into every system, related to either software or a team. I've worked on scaling data for banks, building scalable distributed environments and have helped scale teams to twice their initial sizes.

What is your first impression of Waddle? The platform? The team?

We quickly prototype and build something, then evaluate it and based on feedback from users / the business, we expand on what we have. The platform is simple and lucid and anyone with some industry standard experience can harness it's strengths and deliver value quickly, right from the onset. And, collaboration is part of the DNA here at Waddle.

What are you hoping to achieve here with us?

I'm hoping to work with the fantastic team and grow / scale the Waddle platform, the team and myself.
